Scouts Code of Conduct

The members of the scout troop all agree to follow the Scout Troop Code of Conduct.

This code of conduct and the sanctions were created by the scouts on January 8th 2014.

Code of Conduct

  • Scouts will follow the Scout Promise and the Scout Law.
  • Scouts will listen when others are talking.
  • Scouts will do what is asked of them.
  • Scouts will make sure that they are dressed smartly when they are wearing their Scout uniform.
  • Scouts will not fight or bully.
  • Scouts will not swear or use any language that could cause offence.
  • Scouts will put their mobile phone on silent during meetings.
  • Scouts will do their best to represent the troop by attending Group, District and other Scouting events.
  • Last, but not least, Scouts should come to meetings and activities to have fun!

Warnings and Sanctions

  • Any behaviour that is seen as inappropriate or against the code of conduct will be given a verbal warning.
  • Any further inappropriate behaviour the Scout will be given an appropriate time-out. A Leader will discuss the issue with the Scout.
  • Should there be further behaviour problems the Scout's parents will be called to ask them to collect them the activity. The first time a parent is called a Leader will make the phone call. Should there be a need for the parents to be called again the Scout will make the call to explain to their parent why they are being sent home.
  • Should there be a need to call a parent 3 times in a year a Scout may be asked to leave the troop.
